I’m excited to be launching my new collection of poems, Under Sleep’s New Moon, at one of Denver’s premier indie bookstores, BookBar. The launch is happening on Saturday, October 9, from 7:00–8:00 p.m. BookBar is asking attendees to register ahead of time: see details here. The plan is to hold the reading outside on BookBar’s spacious patio. Should be fun!
Let me add that this book was just released by NYQ Books, the publisher who did such a beautiful job with The World As Is: New and Selected Poems, 1972–2015. I’m inserting NYQ’s press release below because it offers a lot of information in exhaustive (exhausting?) detail.
My hope is that the reading will generate some comments and/or questions, which I’ll be happy to address when we’re all together. Poetry is at heart a solitary art—yes, I can rhyme when I want to!—and the best readings I’ve ever seen have involved a dialogue between the poet and the listeners. So I’m looking forward to a chat about the poems in my 20th (!) collection.
I can’t wait to attend. I am constantly amazed by how your beautiful mind works.
