Vassilis, I mean no slight,
saying you write light
verse. I mean, of course,
your light touch, bright-
ening glance and grin
as you knife a jolt of
lightning into the heart’s
dark. So quick, so easy,
I always think How
sweet as I bungee
into the mindfulness
under each last line
you love dangling
us dazzled readers from.

He currently directs two master’s-level programs for University College at the University of Denver: Professional Creative Writing and Arts & Culture Management. Joe lives with his wife, Melody Madonna, in the mountains southwest of Denver, Colorado, the city where he was born.
