Check Out This Film Project in Progress
A Shakespearean Opportunity I’m excited about this fresh documentary creation by filmmaker Cheryl Eagan-Donovan. I donated to support her previous film, Nothing Is Truer than Truth, which premiered on Hulu in 2019 and is now available on Amazon Prime in North America, and I hope you’ll consider supporting her latest project, All the World’s a Stage: Shakespeare and the Invention of Modern Theatre.Read More

Practicing a Farewell to Camus
I have a perhaps odd fiction-reading habit. When I love an author, I hold off reading every last thing the author published. This is especially true for living, lauded authors. The louder the praise, the longer I wait to read the latest book, I supposed because the hoopla can warp the reading experience. This approach works well with living writers. Celebrate Armistice Day with “War of Words”
Click here to order or reserve tickets. Just $5 each! On Veterans Day, November 11, One Night Stand Theater will present a theatrical piece I created called “War of Words,” first performed at the Arvada Center earlier this year. November 11 is the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, which marked the end of World War I. With that in mind, “War of Words” features poetry of “The Great War,” primarily poetry by Americans such as Carl Sandburg, Edith Wharton, Robert Frost, Wallace Stevens, and many others.Read More

Fractured Moonlight
Carrie Printz, who teaches in the Professional Creative Writing Program I direct at the University of Denver’s University College, has a new play called, tantalizingly, Fractured Moonlight. A reading of her new play is coming up on Saturday, August 5, at 2:30 p.m. at The Vintage Theatre in Aurora. Tickets are just $5. It’s part of the Vintage’s new play festival, which will feature readings of 6 plays during that weekend. For those who have not been to a staged reading before–it is a directed, rehearsed performance of the play that does not include props, costumes, blocking, etc.Read More
