Thanks, y’all! And Pat, I’m sure you’re right. I feel like I’ve read post-apocalyptic sci-fi poetry, too. In fact, I just read one that approaches that: “Birth, Bangkok and Circuits,” by Joel Sloman. It’s in his book Virgil’s Machines, published—get this—in 1966! The title poem, too, might count….
I have his book Baking with Kafka and have shared a few of these with my students in the past. This year’s hot new genres, for example, one of which is Post-apocalyptic sci-fi poetry. Come to think of it, I may have read some of that poetry…
