Several of you have contacted me about The Earth-Boat, a lovely chapbook from Folded Word, because you couldn’t find it on the publisher’s site. I’ve been directing interested readers to the Folded Word blog, which was the only place the book was listed, but not a few of you found that confusing.
That’s why I’m happy to announce that The Earth-Boat now has its own page on Folded Word, where you can order one of the few Signature Edition copies left, one of Green Edition copies, or pre-order the eBook version which should be released in mid-summer. Here are the details!

The eighteen poems in this collection take an arc-like journey through western North America. Colorado, Mexico, California—regardless of place, Joseph Hutchison finds a way to commune with nature and communicate with people. These poems simultaneously describe focused moments and broad narratives in language infused with the inhabitants and sensations of each place. Crows. Comets. Mountains. Oceans. Joseph’s description of this earth-boat we all share is so engaging that “for a few breaths [you may] feel it drifting.”
