Pikes Peak VideoPoetryLooza
Back in April I was honored to help the Pikes Peak Library District’s Poet Laureate Project kick off Poetry Month in Colorado Springs. It was a fine, well-attended shindig with several wonderful poets, and the District generously videotaped the whole thing. I shudder a bit to see myself onscreen; it brings home too vividly the fact that I have quite a few performance tics that I’m now too far into dotage to correct.Read More

Join Us for a Reading with Lawson Inada
One of the great side effects of being a poet laureate is that opportunities to read with other poets laureate arise unexpectedly. Case in point (from the press release): On Thursday, May 21st from 7:00-8:00 p.m., the University of Denver is hosting An Evening with Two Poet Laureates in the Anderson Academic Commons, Special Events Room. This reading brings together for the first time Colorado Poet Laureate Joseph Hutchison (University College) and former Oregon Poet Laureate Lawson Inada. Both will read from their work, as well as engage with the audience.Read More
