Here are some pics of my first reading in support of Marked Men at Tattered Cover‘s Colfax location this past Friday, September 20th. Wrestling a 46-page historical poem into a 45-minute presentation gave me a sleepless night or two, but I lucked into a generous audience that made the evening a real pleasure. Thanks to my beautiful wife Melody for her turn behind the camera.
Another Marked Men reading is on the schedule for the Denver area: 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 4th, at the wonderful new indie store, Book Bar. This is part of a whole Poetry Weekend, by the way. The next day—Saturday, October 5th, at 7:00 p.m.—Leslie Ullman and Sheryl Luna will be reading from their new collections: Ullman from Progress on the Subject of Immensity (University of New Mexico Press) and Luna from Seven (3: A Taos Press). Denver has needed a store like Book Bar for a long time now—one that brings together poets, poetry readers, and wine. Thanks to owner Nicole Sullivan for making it happen!
Thanks, William. Your vote of confidence means a lot….
It sounds like the audience enjoyed your forty-five-minute condensation as much as I did the entire book. At least I hope they did, because it was wonderful indeed.
