Reading Samperi is to readjust my thinking to a Thomastic worldview and see the potential in it for a real reply (remedy?) to the poetry butchery caused by the Language school, one rooted in a horribly irresponsible reappropriation of the notions of world &amp; being. I

    &quot;Cry out to the angels above the city&quot; — sure sounds like Whitman and/or Ginsberg to me.<br /><br />I&#39;ve read Durrell&#39;s four books known as the Alexandria Quartet, and enjoyed them generally, but I&#39;m not familiar with the Avignon Quintet. I&#39;ll need to seek them out.
