Carlos Fuentes Floyce Alexander |
The death and life of Carlos Fuentes have been addressed by dozens of writers over the past week, but none have written more beautifully than poet Floyce Alexander on his blog here. This is just one of the poems Alexander has been posting almost daily since 2010—an ongoing gift to us all. If you’re not already following Floyce Alexander’s blog, what are you waiting for?
I'll bet you and Floyce have plenty of Mexico experiences in common. He's a hell of a poet. I first read him in a Lillabullero chapbook from the early '70s, I think—Machete. Like you, he's a maker of what Vallejo called poemas humanos, of which we need more these days….
Just checked out the Fuentes poem. A wonderful tribute. Thanks for sharing that, Joe. Also wrote Floyce a note. Keep it flowing, amigo.
