When my wonderful friend and Web artist Sabina Espinet imported The Perpetual Bird from its original home on Blogger, certain draft posts showed up in my WordPress back office. (On Blogger, drafts are left in order by the creation date, so if you create a draft and don’t finish it, and two weeks go by, it’s easy to forget that you’d begun it, or—if you’re me—to somehow believe that you’ve already finished and posted it.) Among these drafts was a fragment containing a link to an interview done with me by Robert King, founder and proprietor of the Colorado Poets Center.
The interview was published in the Spring 2014 issue of the Center’s newsletter, E-Words (now The Colorado Poet). The subject was my book Marked Men. Bob had read the book in depth and asked very incisive questions about it. That means that while I’ve been tardy in linking to it, the information hasn’t aged. Enjoy!
By the way, in talking about the book I told Bob this: “If it’s ever reprinted there a handful of changes I want to make even now.” Well, Marked Men HAS been reprinted, and I did get to make those changes—most so minor I doubt if anyone would notice. But I’m sleeping better because of them….
