    Hi Joseph!<BR/>As an amateur translator myself I think the quality of any translation in poetry depends much on what was the main objective of the translator; to accurately translate what the author was telling or to translate approximately what the author was telling but making an effort to keep the rhymes or the "musicality" of the poem.<BR/>I choose to trying to be as much accurate as possible

    By gad, sir, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. No decision needs to be made. Let each work its magic as it will, then check back in a year or two or five.
