I’m completely thrilled to have three poems of mine included in New Poets of the American West, a huge (550-page) anthology of poets (250-plus) from eleven western states, edited by Lowell Jaeger and beautifully produced by Many Voices Press. The breadth and depth of this book is frankly amazing, and it’s a privilege to be part of it. I hope you’ll take a minute to click the link under the cover image and download the PDF flyer, then drop it off at your local book store or library and ask them to order the book. I can’t think of anything comparable to it, unless it would be Ray González’s groundbreaking Crossing the River: Poets of the Western U.S. In any case, it’s quite a pleasure to find one’s work mixed in with poets like Jimmy Santiago Baca, Maxine Chernoff, Dorianne Laux, Philip Levine, Adrian C. Louis, Jane Miller, and Al Young, not to mention the twenty-plus Colorado poets included here whose work I admire so much.
Gracias, amigo!
Good show, Joe–congrats!
