Peter, thanks for your comment, and Joe, thanks for the update. I never thought that William Walsh was incapable of putting together his own sentences; indeed, he would have to be adept in order to make his Trillin selections and weave them into some sort of meaningful or coherent order.

My own feeling is that with the richness and abundance life has to offer from one moment to the next,

    I understand what you’re saying.

To answer your closing question, Trillin gave Walsh permission to publish the book. Trillin is a funny guy.

In William Walsh’s defense, he has written two books and he is working on two more. So he can put a few sentences of his own together. He’s got some good stuff online too.

Thanks!
Peter
Keyhole

I’m not saying Calvin Trillin is an idiot, but his poetry could be "Exhibit A" in an action to appoint a guardian.

"What will Calvin Trillin have to say about Mr. Walsh’s interrogative compilation?"

Nothing–

He’ll be left
Dumbstruck!

As a symbolic act, I think I will go out and buy a book by Trillin. Or by anyone.
