And Cordova has a lot to say about the brutality of the reservation school system that broke up families, forbade students from speaking their native languages, and required at least outward obeisance to Christian ideas and practices.     Joseph,<br /><br />I look to forward to reading your &quot;Friday Notebook&quot;: always learning new authors, concepts (like &#39;Usen&#39;)and poets. As you know, I&#39;m a big fan of Abram&#39;s book, and please do read Merleau-Ponty: he&#39;s very approachable.<br /><br />I&#39;ll certainly add Cordova and Zagajewski to my Amazon.ca list.<br /><br />By the way, you might be interested to know
