Talking Gourd is a Bardic, Eco-Arts, nomadic Community begun 25 years ago
in the mountains of Telluride, Colorado, to honor the teaching of
Dolores La Chapelle, Deep ecologist, Activist
and doyenne of Earth Wisdom and Ritual.
We invite poets, writers, musicians, artists, story tellers, chefs,
Lovers of Beauty and this amazing Planet,
to gather for a week at the Farm, in a milagro of birds and butterflies,
to speak and sing our places alive, to chant, and drum and talk …
to dream and rest and wonder … to hike and wildcraft …
praise and play … & feast on delicious food:
just-made tortillas, exotic fruits, fresh juices, farmraised meats, local vegetables –
all the delights of local cuisine, including divine
from-the-oven pies, brownies, breads….
The Farm offers a range of indoor/outdoor lodging and include
bounteous, scrumptious meals!
Talking Gourd South coincides with the San Miguel Writer’s Conference,
February 19–23.
Combine our gathering with in-town literary festivitiesf
The Lacuna, centers on the Mexican Revolution and stars
Frida, Diego and Trotsky.

and each will have a turn to be heard, to read their work,t
to sing, to speak….
Sunday night we host the San Miguel Writer’s Conference at the Farm…
for “Pigs in Heaven”… a Carnitas & Gourd Fest! … Starring—Us!
The weather’s warm and sunny, by day, cool and fresh at night.
