    Interesting what you say here about Stanley Kunitz and layers. I haven&#39;t read a great deal of Kunitz&#39;s poetry, though one poem of his, &quot;The Mound-Builders&quot; (which I first read in the anthology <i>Where Is Vietnam?</i> edited by Walter Lowenfels), has lingered with me over the years — Kunitz begins the poem with a one-line epigraph, which he took from a sign at Ocmulgee National
