I’m excited to note that Alexander Pepple, editor of the energetic journal Able Muse, has nominated my poem “Touch” for a Pushcart Prize. (The poem also appears in my new book, The World As Is: New & Selected Poems, 1972-2015.) It’s quite an honor to be nominated in the company of such fine poets as Amanda Jernigan and Scott Ruescher. Thanks, Alexander!
Congratulations!
Joe,
Wow, congratulations! No surprise, of course, but this is wonderful news.

Thanks, y’all!
No, Art, no money is involved, I think. When I read in Greeley Tuesday night with Lisa Zimmerman, she made a funny and true remark: “Poetry is the poor little matchgirl of the literary arts.” Hah!
And Madelyn, you should know better than to ask “how many years”! Doing that concedes to time what belongs to the timelessness of friendship. Doesn’t it seem like yesterday…?
Joe,
Outstanding!
Congratulations. ?

Congratulations, Poet Laureate of Colorado!
Congrats, Joe. I can’t wait to read it in the next Pushcart anthology because I know it has to be accepted. As always, I count myself as one of your biggest fans as a poet and teacher and wonderful human being…for how many years now? I am counting right now.
Congratulations, Joe. Another well deserved honor. I don’t suppose money comes along with any of them. 😉
